Set up networking in Ubuntu via VirtualBox (Network Bridge)?
Good evening! I can not configure the network through the Network Bridge (VirtualBox), although in Nat mode everything works. I can't figure out what's the problem? What did you try? Or raw data.
Notebook: MSI GS 73 Windows 10 Home OS. Ubuntu guest OS installed via Virtual Box
Router: TP - Link
So I set network bridge mode in the network settings (Virtual Box).
Next, I boot the Ubuntu guest OS:
Writes a connection failure ......
I think, well, ok. Went to google and look for a solution. One of the options is to register everything manually, although the router (TP LINK) works in DHCP mode.
I prescribe the same settings as in the main OS (of course, I don’t repeat ip).
I prescribe the same in Ubuntu (I do not repeat ip)
There is still no network. The router does not even respond... (I ping the address of the main gateway).
What am I doing wrong?
ps The
laptop works via Wi-fi. In the VirtualBox settings, when you select a network bridge, you can select a WI-Fi adapter. but when I boot, Wifi - adapters are not detected.
Explain what to do? Or in which direction to dig at least ....

In the guest system, you will not see Wi-Fi. There is a virtual network (wired) card. Try connecting your laptop with a wire to the router. With a dofiga probability - it will work.
usually everything works out of the box, try to remove the virtual machine without deleting the disk and then create it again and select this disk,
but if you want to get confused
additionally / port forwarding?

I agree with people, everything from the box should work.
I have QEMU/KVM and everything works without problems.
