Selecting hdd for software RAID 1. Will there be a difference between RAID Edition and regular desktop?

Is there a difference in the work of hdd between the "RAID Edition" and the usual desktop ones for software RAID 1?

When there is an opportunity to rely on numbers - maybe you should rely on them? What have we always considered as the primary source? That's right, the manufacturer's datasheet.
We take datasheets for Western Digital
Gold (Enterprise Class)
Red Pro (NAS Class)
Blue (Desktop Class)
drives and start slowly and thoughtfully comparing them. For comparison, we take models with a capacity of 2TB - WD2005FBYZ from the gold series and WD20EZRZ from the blue one. (Prices for comparison - in Citylink WD2005FBYZ - 8090 rubles, WD20EZRZ - 3990 rubles)
The first digit is gold, the second is blue
Data Transfer Rate - 200Mb / s / 147 Mb / s
That is, that - the blue disk transmits data a quarter slower per unit of time. Need to explain how important this is? I think no. What is for a software raid, what is for a hardware raid, what is for a simple
Cache disk - 128 Mb / 64 Mb
I also think it does not need comments - more cache, faster operation
Performance Class - 7200 RPM / 5400 RPM
(we failed to find disks with the same spinrate - it looks like the hdd lines are shrinking due to the total transition to ssd)
It is clear that the faster the plate rotates, the faster data is read from it (but more accurate and more reliable mechanics are required)
MTBF (Mean time between failures - time between failures) - 2,500 000 / 650 000
Gold disk, other things being equal, will work stupidly in fourtimes longer (I didn't specify the parameter for blue WD, it was taken in nix)
Warranty time - 5 years / 2 years
There are also less necessary parameters - power consumption, shock loads etc - you can see for yourself.
Well, then - "think for yourself, decide for yourself" - will there be a difference for you or not ...

There is a difference. At the very least, they have a different behavior in case of problems with reading. For hdd, reliability and vibration resistance are often even higher.

Practice has shown it will not.
