Selecting Force.com as the platform for the site

The client wants to create a site based on the Force.com platform. There are few practical reviews about this platform on the Internet. And in the Russian-speaking, no. Does anyone have experience with this platform? Is it worth using a platform to build a website?

My research on the platform has shown that Force.com is primarily for corporate portals, not websites. The site is supposed to be all-Russian and have a number of unique visits of about 10 thousand per day.

10 thousand is not a big number. And what are the requirements for the site, the client somehow motivates his desire. Do they use the force.com platform internally?

This company themselves write something for other companies and they have experience in implementation in other Russian companies on force.com. The site will be an online service type. I can't tell you the details, they asked not to disclose.

In my humble opinion, developing a site based on force.com does not make much sense for a practical person if they do not use / are not going to use other solutions based on this platform. Nevertheless, this can be done, although (again IMHO) it's like using BelAZ to deliver mail.
