Good evening!
There is an Rfid tag reader MFRC522, which is connected to the Arduino. The reader is located inside the front door. The barrier between the reader and the card (namely the card, not the key fob) is 2mm steel.
Problem: the reader does not catch the card through such an obstacle. I tried to increase the radius of the antenna in the firmware:
mfrc522.PCD_SetAntennaGain(mfrc522.RxGain_max);
It did not change anything. Without obstruction, the card is read at a distance of about 15mm.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I will be glad to advice!

take out the reader antenna in front of the obstacle - in a different way - no way
