How to reduce the speed of the HD7850-DC-1GD5 video card?
Through Asus GPU tweaker and MSI Afterburner, it is not possible to reduce the speed below 1200. For example, in asus, when the speed is set to less than 20%, the actual number of revolutions does not decrease, in msi, it is generally impossible to set less than 25%. I'm considering two options:
1) There is a video card BIOS editing program www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/vbe7-vbios-edit... where you can edit the fan rotation profile depending on temperature. Will this method help or will the result be the same as control through the driver?
2) Will soldering a resistor between the fan power supply and the fan help to reduce the speed? Or will the video card increase the voltage on the fan until it reaches the desired speed? (fan 4 pin)
ps Now the video card does not overheat and there is a large margin for temperature, so reducing the speed by 20% will not have a bad effect. In idle, it is generally cold, and under load it does not exceed 60-70 degrees.
