Remote connection\administration of client servers with upwork?

The first proposals appeared with upwork to solve small problems of remote clients. The question immediately arose - how do you connect to remote client servers to solve such problems? How clients provide such access to servers. Let's say the client has a problem with MySQL and needs to solve it, but in order to see the errors, I need to look at the logs

I once had such that I had to connect with a team viewer to the Windows machine of a dude who has an ssh connection to the server opened in Putty. No more orders from him.

In most cases ssh. Sometimes they give a username / password with root rights.
