Reducing the cost of faxing. Fax over the Internet?

Good afternoon.
At work, you need to significantly reduce communication costs, the lion's share of money is eaten by fax. Is there a possibility (hardware, software) to send faxes via the Internet? Naturally, the cheaper the better, but not at the expense of the quality of work.
Another such moment, there are 2 faxes. apparatus, with different numbers and physically in different buildings. Both need to be shortened.
In general, is there a possibility, and if so, in which direction to dig.
Thank you.

Connect to IP telephony, choose the G.711 codec or ask your provider about T.38 support - and that's it.
Or, there are separate Internet fax services, here you don’t need a phone at all.

Fats - on what?
1. At the reception and fax paper? Install VentaFax.
2. On the dispatch and cost of calls? Scan and wash.
There is a virtual fax on the operator's IP PBX. I did not understand, because it is not necessary. Never needed one in 2 years.
Today, for the first time, they called us on the IP phone and offered us to receive a fax. Then they called back to the usual city line with a fax - it turned out that there was a letter with an attachment for 45 sheets ... They broke off this case, they said that the paper in the fax was over. Scan - and on soap ...
