RAID + adapter ide ~> sata?

There is an old junk in the form of a server whose mother does not support sata, it has a pci ide raid controller. In general, I'm satisfied with the hardware, except for hdd.
I know that there are adapters for sata.
How would I tie raid 10? Will it work if an adapter is inserted into the controller. Maybe there are options?

So what actually prevents you from putting a pci board with sata ports and a raid into the server?
The adapter is not good. They were meant for something else.

Adapters to SATA IMHO - garbage. I stood on one computer like this, the computer regularly hung, it was not always loaded. Everything was ok without the adapter.
