Quick notification of search engines about the changed content on the site?

Comrades, akhtung!
What is the best way to notify search engines when the content on the site has changed/updated?
(Now the update takes place at least a day later)
Tell me: who uses what? How to achieve the minimum time for new content to appear in search results?
In advance, Thanks to everyone for the help!
UPD1: Who is like pinguget - share services and methods? Not by hand?

Google and Bing can hint that the sitemap has changed...

:google         => "http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ping?sitemap=%s",
:bing           => "http://www.bing.com/webmaster/ping.aspx?siteMap=%s"

Others also most likely have this, google "ping sitemap"

You have already been written about pings.
+1 to Natann's post.
For Yandex, there is also a yadd service . Nothing new, just convenient. And another twitter feed, preferably with age.
With Google it's a little different. Enter in WMT (Tools) sitemap.xml for general indexing of all links and site feed for a quick update.
Tips and Tricks for XML Sitemaps and RSS/... (translated) by Alkis Evloimenos. And it is also desirable to have the date in microdata with the updated parameter, if there is a suitable format in schema.org for your activity.
Yandex, unfortunately, does not work with feeds, and sitemap.xml is read once every two weeks, but the sitemap should still be entered.
Mail.ru, as far as I remember, works with both feeds and sitemaps.
