dabiankolins1, 2018-09-16 22:53:55

Question about the city?

I want to work in IT (preferably in a large company)
Now I live in a small town
Applying soon
Question, what do you think is the best way to enter:
1) a university in your city (there is one good university), learn programming yourself (taking courses), and then move to large city (Moscow / St. Petersburg);
2) try to enter big cities, live on doshiraks, plus self-study and courses
. What to choose?
What is better for a future career?
Should I look into freelancing?

The sooner you leave for the big city, the better.
Get an internship whenever possible.
Live experience is better than formal education.

Good afternoon!
You say that you plan to study at a university and study programming at the same time. Don't college teach you programming? If they teach you, it’s probably better to try to combine study with work / freelancing, and there it will form by itself. If not, what is the point of this university? Perhaps it is better to go to the nearest large IT city (it is not necessary to go to the capital - in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and in several other cities there are very decent universities), studies there. Moreover, large IT companies cooperate with good universities and hunt graduates for themselves. You just want to join a big IT company.
