Question about ASUS 500gP v2 router firmware (dd-wrt and others)?
Good afternoon!
Tell me who set it up - I got confused in various firmware :-)
At the moment I know:
1) native from ASUS for this router
1) DD-WRT
2) ASUS firmware based on DD-WRT
3) "Enthusiasts"
4) Oleg
What I want to? connect a screw via USB, raise OpenVPN, download content / torrrent (transmission), share storage over the network (samba), a small web server outside (but you can do without it)
Which of these is better to install in order to work stably and normally?
Hands grow from there, I know the nixes, but I really don’t want to mess around - there is not enough time.
DD-WRT is also confusing - that it is in BETA status for my router, and most importantly - in order to put everything I wrote, you need to put MEGA - and there is a lot of everything that is not needed, or does it not interfere?
Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Oleg, frankly, is already outdated, it was on its basis that the firmware of "Enthusiasts" was made.
In general, WL500gP v2 doesn't hold torrents very well, it will stutter :) Keep that in mind.
I myself used the firmware from enthusiasts, according to the tutorial from wl500g.info. In general, I set it up and forgot it once :)
Now there is another router (ASUS N16), I put TomatoUSB there, I'm very pleased with it, it also seems to be under wl500gpv2.
If you have OpenWRT, install it. If not, then from enthusiasts.
I have been using this router for 2.5 years on firmware from enthusiasts. For all the time there were no problems. Works surprisingly stable.
I tried to install dd-wrt - I didn’t like it because the router started freezing on it, even when working without additional load (just like a switch + wi-fi access point), rolled back to “enthusiasts”.
