Problem with NTFS or hardware?

Good afternoon dear community.
I understand that the question is a bit strange of the day of the toaster, and yet, maybe someone has come across a similar one. I've been scratching my head for the second day and can't find anything logical.
Essence:there is an external screw on 2Tb with a cradle leading to usb3. HDD began to die (loading 100% constantly without the ability to access files or properties of the screw, bad sounds from the screw, explorer completely freezes when trying to access the contents of the disk). A little belatedly, it was decided to merge all the information from him to another machine. Attempts to connect to other machines (on Win 8.1, 10) failed - the effect is always the same. A couple of days ago I decided to try to connect a problematic HDD to a poppy beech. To my great surprise, the screw that refused to work correctly in Win was perfectly recognized and launched on Sierra. Copying files - ok, writing ok. There are no extraneous sounds. After the poppy we connect to Windows - nothing has changed, the dix is dead ....
It was decided that while everything is "in order" at least for a poppy, quickly drain everything valuable from the screw. There is about 800GB of valuable information on it, and the rest of the information is of no value.
Because on an apple device there is about 30 GB of space, it was decided to do this: a failed 2TB HDD is inserted into one port, a known working HDD removed from one of the working machines is connected to the other port.
Copying information was successful, speed and other parameters are unremarkable.
Further mysticism, gentlemen.
We take the HDD to which the information was merged, connect it to another laptop on Win (approx. the laptop is completely new with fresh Win 10. I did not contact any of the HDDs or other machines), successfully copy the first part of the information and correctly disconnect the media. Literally a quarter of an hour later, it was necessary to merge 1 file from the same screw onto the same new laptop. We connect and ..... nothing. The symptoms of the disk that was used to transfer the data began to repeat the symptoms of the "problem" 2TB screw 100%.
Outcome. now there are not 1, but 2 screws that are displayed in windows as an "external device" and hang explorer, with a 100% load. neither to read the properties of the screw, nor to view files or occupied/free space is impossible. The screw used to transfer data began to make strange sounds. Victoria\mhdd does not define any of the disks under Windows at all. A check in OS Sierra Disk Utility did not reveal any problems, but the disk with which the problems began began to work extremely slowly. Rather, in jerks - copying from it can take 2 seconds, then completely stop for a couple of minutes and continue again for 1-2 seconds.
The question is - how can it be that a knowingly healthy screw has adopted the behavior of a damaged one? To connect the screws to the systems, different docks / cradles were used, so the problem in the usb controllers is excluded. Scanning the system for viruses did not reveal anything. Attempts to access disks under Windows were made both through the windows interface and through safe mode using the command line.
The only option that comes to mind is the coincidence and death of the second hard drive after copying the information, but then for what reason does the "failed" 2TB continue to work correctly under the apple OS?
PS, an interesting option would be to format the disks and try to start it clean, but unfortunately, they still have valuable information and formatting is out of the question until it is completely copied.

To get started - connect the screws to any properly working computer, into a SATA port with normal power, without any USB cradles .
Then look at the SMART output with any program that can read it, for example CrystalDiskInfo
And attach this information to the question.
Based on the information that you have given, no conclusions, even approximate ones, can be made.

bad sounds from the screw
It is very difficult to determine a good sound or not.
Some good propellers make a very loud and annoying grinding sound during normal operation.
Some have crackling heads - either from reading many small files, or from a malfunction and many attempts to position the heads. Noise can be from multiple attempts to start with a lack of power.

To check disks and Windows, try booting from some Windows livecd and run a disk test. For example, you can use this one: adminpe.ru
If the test from the boot disk is normal, then look for a problem in the general software that is installed in your Windows. For example - an antivirus or vice versa - a virus.

I saw something similar with several flash drives, the problem was with exFAT, macOS somehow writes there in its own way and then Windows cannot read it.

Firstly, utilities for working with a disk from under Windows: only defragmentation and file system verification are acceptable. Do you want to read SMART on a problematic screw-Victoria (not the one from under Windows) or similar from the manufacturer, but always with your OS.
Running a FS check is a good idea, try from a LiveCD of some Linux distribution.
And I also thought about NTFS streams ... if files allow, try to rewrite to FAT32, well, or Ext3-4, format the screw to NTFS and write back, if there is space on a two-terabyte drive and Victoria does not show non-reassignable bads, you can cut off the partition there.

In advance, I'm sorry that upset . Maybe it's only with asus laptops or just laptops. With a normal PC, fortunately, everything is fine.
Well, how can I tell you, strange sounds, this is most likely the work of the head (reads the info).
Do you dump everything in one place or create folders? If everything is in one place .. then it’s understandable why it weighs .. it indexes your "800GB"
And by the way, after the win 10 update, it was the laptops that died all at once. The first one recovered, and the second already had a disk that flew to 0 .. that is, no information, no volumes .. I had to re-create volumes, etc. .. now I'm getting info from it. I don’t know what kind of a disastrous update has arrived .. but on a regular computer everything is ok. And the poppy is always good) They write that because of the incompatibility of peripheral drivers (usb / sata, etc.) It all starts with a freeze and a long boot "like welcome" and then how lucky. But there is only one outcome. Blue screen with the inscription recove.. bcd file error.
How to proceed ? Don't know. Remove updates or drivers. Asus laptops, one is mine, the other is a friend.
This is not a virus because I installed Windows completely on a clean ssd ... after the update, 3 reboots and a blue screen or after 1 day. The symptoms are the same, it hangs on welcome .... although the hardware is not weak .. it reads flash drives, but with difficulty, the disks hang.
