Priorities in XML Sitemap, how to set them correctly?

Hello!
Can you please tell me how to prioritize in the sitemap?
Here's the list:
0.8 Home page
1.0 Articles (If automatic calculation is disabled)
0.9 Minimum article priority (Even if automatic calculation is enabled)
0.1 Static pages
0.2 Categories
0.3 Archives
0.4 Tag pages
0.5 Author pages
Are these priorities set correctly for a news site?

0.7 Articles
0.7 Minimum Priority
0.8 Category
Authors' pages should not be indexed.
0.8 pages of tags - assuming the tags are set correctly and people actually type that way.
As for the archives, it's better not to index them, the news quickly becomes outdated anyway. Only transfer the news to the archive after a year - then they will definitely not bring any traffic.
