Possibilities of using eGPU and all sorts of crutches to it?
Good day, dear users and masters of this forum.
Some background ... For about two months now I've been asking the same question, the question concerns a stray for connecting an external video card to a laptop, in other words , an eGPU is connected via a Thunderbold3-pcie adapter . It would seem what a wonderful device, yes, but there are a lot of questions for him.
I went through a lot of forums on the subject of stuffing PCIE into a laptop, and how strangely I found 2.5 methods. Why is the number not an integer? It's simple, one of the ways is a Chinese adapter, and this is criminal ... The first way, by itself, is the device itself like ASUS ROG XG STATION... The second way - thanks to the truncated, but existing mPCI port in laptops , which is used to connect the WIFI adapter ...
It would seem to take it and do it ... But the essence of my question is about a more advanced use of this device, let's say insert into it not graphics processor, and any other device on the PCI, capture card or audio card. The second side of this question is that not all laptops have THUNDERBOLD3(2\1) , but they do have Type-C on board. As far as I know, there are adapters from ThunderBold - Type-c , but the question of the reliability of this "space station on your knees"?
Of course, it would be much easier to take a regular stationary PC, but this post, the issue is not solved so simply :)
Tell me who can do what, share your experience, and indeed, it would be cool to hear a third-party opinion on this issue.
ps I don’t want to use ordinary laptop capture cards because I recently had the experience of unreasonable burning of such a usb 3.1 card, returned it under warranty, and no one knows the reason why she decided to drive off ...
