Organization of script code?

Tell me if there are any "best practices" for organizing the script code?
The essence of the script is to take data from the database, process the data, generate files based on them, and send them by mail.
Now the main functions are scattered across files, plus a couple of helper files.
But something starts to annoy the lack of structure. Maybe someone has skeletons from practice?

I'm too lazy to watch everything, choose based on the budget:
- a large screen with good viewing angles, in my opinion this is the most important thing (well, or + a separate monitor). If you find it take 16:10, not 16:9. Also, do not chase for a very high resolution, otherwise you will have to scale - the text will be sooooo small.
- more RAM, the more the better. Or the ability to replace / reinstall, but first look at its prices, it’s easier to immediately take the maximum.
- ssd hard drive or the ability to install it, i.e. the presence of a cd-rom, which you then throw away and replace with a pocket
- a separate web card is not needed for your tasks, but I think you also want to play She eats up to half the price of the laptop.
- OS, often the price of a license is included. I would take a bare laptop, maybe on Linux and Windows programs are definitely not important to me. In your case, maybe you need to take with Windows, games, study ...
Any laptop is suitable for web development, even the simplest one, because. work with text. The same goes for WP.
For graphic editors (Photoshop, GIMP) you need a normal percentage, memory and a fast screw.
Anyone can keep a local web server and database, resources are needed there are minuscule.
