Polygraph test when applying for a job, is it generally normal?

For the first time I hear such that programmers are tested on a polygraph. This is fine?

No, not normal
Also indicative of a disgusting level of SA and/or practices
Why:
- the polygraph is not reliable
- the polygraph can be bypassed
- the analysis of the output is carried out by a person
Which means that the SA does not know how to work, which in turn means that all dogs will be hanged on a random of a person
No amount justifies the risks that lie behind such behavior of the employer

was fashionable for a couple of years. someone is stuck in the past. go for general education. answer false all the time, the check will end quickly.
