Site A - cashback
Site B - store
When you go to site A , it writes you a cookie tag. Then he gives it to store B. Moreover, if you have this label, then the prices in store B will be immediately higher by several percent. But if you use cashback, then they will allegedly give you a discount of 5-10%, but in fact not.
Initially, the product costs - 10000
The price of the product with the tag is 10500
The price with the cashback discount - 10200
200 rubles takes the cashback for itself, and the store does not lose anything. Well, then they return 300 rubles to you, you think "Wow!", but in fact you gave the store money so that after some time it would return it to you. At the same time, they also bought goods more expensive by 200 rubles.

Not everything is always as bad as Alexander Pushkarev described . There are normal services and stores.
In theory, it works like this:
The store does not spend money on advertising, due to this it is ready to sell goods for 5% cheaper
Cashback service is spent on advertising instead of the store, and if its work attracted you as a buyer and you bought goods in the store, then the store gives the service these 5% (because theoretically it would spend more than 5% on advertising), and the service gives you 3% for being so good and buying "through it".
As a result, you get a 3% discount, the service receives 2% of the cost of your purchase, and the store theoretically saves on promoting its store
technically the store's API is used, before buying the cashback service we set you a unique cookie, the store checks this cookie when buying
