Picture on TV via HDMI
I have a Philips TV (I can’t name a specific brand now, I’ll only say that it’s a model with ambilight), I tried to connect a laptop and an Xbox to it with an HDMI cable. In both cases, transitions in the gradients are visible - apparently, the color is 16 bits. What could be the reason, in the cable (I took the cheapest one) or the TV? Or maybe all cables behave this way?

It can depend on many factors: the quality of the cable, ITS LENGTH (which is quite important). Often the usual reconnection helps, but in your case I advise you to delve into the settings of the video card.
I think the cable is damaged or the TV incorrectly interprets the signal. Try fiddling with your TV settings. I have the cheapest cable and have no problems.
Most likely the problem is in the plug, or it is not fully plugged in, or it is damaged. TV in this case acts as a monitor and does not need additional settings.
Most likely something is wrong in the settings of the TV. Some models like to "improve" the picture. Perhaps the TV thus increases the contrast. I have cheap cables, besides bought at the nearest flea market and everything is OK. But I had to tinker with the TV settings, but I don’t remember what I was twisting, besides, I have Samsungs.
