Photoshop CC2107 eats 5 times more memory than CS5.1. Does it make sense to use SS2015?

Switched from Photoshop CS5.1 to CC2017 for the "Copy SVG" option.
It started eating 5 times more memory
(from 400 MB to 2000 MB for the same file with the same performance settings)
Is this normal?
Does it make sense to try CC2015? How is it with memory consumption?

1. For modern iron, your claims are simply ridiculous. Add RAM for 500 rubles - and don't worry.
2. If you don't need the features of the new version, use the old one. This can only be decided by you.
3. Are you sure that all settings are identical. For example, the depth of history recording.
