PhD in the West?

Good evening.
I'm interested in the question: is a PhD degree obtained in Russia officially equivalent to a PhD in the USA or Canada?
What benefits will our degree give in these countries? Does it have any significance in the West at all?
I didn’t find a suitable hub, I apologize if I’m writing in the wrong place and off topic. There is not much information on the Internet and its reliability is doubtful, but there may be people with a similar "state" of affairs who are aware of this issue.
I also ask for links to reliable sources of information on this issue.
Thank you in advance.

I can say about the USA.
CTH is equivalent to PhD (at least in universities and laboratories). Accordingly, you can get to those places where you need a PhD. Another thing is that there is less faith in our KTN, since this is some kind of incomprehensible overseas (for Americans) business, but formally everything is fine.
As for any special benefits, I don't know.

There is an article on Wikipedia about this (see p. "The situation in different countries"). KTN will be a PhD if it is possible to pass the nostrification procedure

The university says that abroad, for many positions (in particular, leadership), a PhD degree is required. How true is the rumor?

Remasik, they lie. 90% of the time, no one cares about your degrees. 99% love PhD words. In practice, official nostrification is again not needed. If you are a full-fledged candidate, then just write on your business card and in your PhD resume. If you want to be extremely accurate, then write "Russian equivalent". That's it official nostrification is needed in extremely exotic situations that happen in the world of academic science. And usually if you are in such a situation, then there will be no problems. This is if there professors give you a permanent one and, according to the rules, they want to have all the papers filled out.

Rather, you are just confused, you do not need to be a walking reference book. Try watching foreign video tutorials and reading a book at the same time, trying all the examples. If there is a chapter in the book with which you are already familiar, just skip it, experiment more yourself. Think of some kind of program and write it, but if you don’t know something, ask for help on the forums by providing your code. More communication with people like you will help you find the right solutions faster.

C++ was created in the harsh labs of Bell Labs, not the ruby hipsters of the 2000s. At a time when the entry threshold into programming was a year, not a month or a week. Just find a job in C++ and that's it. They will drag it there in a couple of years. Plenty of places with ios and androids. There are not very high requirements.
