Perhaps there are new convenient ways to work in several places?

I don’t know how to choose the right tags, the question is quite extensive
I have several jobs: home, main office, server room and a few more situationally,
of course I carry a laptop with me, but whatever it is, the performance of a laptop cannot be compared to a stationary PC with two monitors .
It is not always convenient to use RDP / vpn, etc., and more often it is not at all convenient. If it weren’t for a laptop, I would carry a “pocket” with ssd, this would solve the problem, but if even with usb 3.0 use it, the speed will be far from so hot.

Does anyone have any good experience? Maybe devices? The asking price doesn't matter. Now I have a separate PC at every place and everywhere it’s just AD to set up the working environment every time, there are programs that are rarely needed, somewhere I forget to install them and every time I have to install, and when the update ...
well, in general, my message is clear, I think )

You probably have very specific tasks if the performance of a "price does not matter" laptop does not suit you.
Laptop is the best solution.
Alternatives:
Portable storage. Lower performance, modern interfaces are needed, lower reliability, higher risk of loss, including the possibility of compromising information.
Any form of rdp or remote software. Network dependency.
scripted environment. High complexity, overhead of script support.
A laptop is the best solution; in stationary conditions, an external monitor or two is connected to it.
