How to measure VPN connection speed?

Good afternoon.
Organized a channel using OpenVPN, but the connection speed is clearly lower than expected. I found the OpenVPN settings to change it, but I want to test it differently than downloading / uploading files.
Write, if possible, client-server options for both Windows and Linux.

What and how can speed be measured?
