OS X: Samba shares not connecting when connected via vpn

I connect from home to the office network via VPN. I'm trying to mount the balls on the office NAS - they seem to be mounted, but at the same time the window with "connecting to smb:// .." does not disappear and the finder hangs for a while. All this is accompanied by the following:

05/11/11 23:10:37 kernel smb_iod_reconnect: Reconnected share… with server 192.168.0…
05/11/11 23:10:47 fseventsd[32] SLOWDOWN: client 0x102802000 (pid 45) sleeping due to too many errors (num usleeps 10)

[replaced some numbers and letters with ellipsis]

After the last message, the finder hangs, but the connection to the NAS also disappears. Interestingly, at the same time, the bootcamp Windows launched in parallel mount everything with a whistle, i.e. the problem is precisely at the OS X level.
I googled diligently, but I did not find anything on this issue. Where to dig at least?
