New HDD, but made a few years ago - is it worth buying?

Does it make sense to buy an HDD that is new (in the sense that it has not been used), but was released several years ago (3-4-5) and has been in the warehouse all the time? Are there elements that can degrade from simple lying?
Or is it better to buy a disc more expensive, but a fresh release?

@Neusser

in disks that are now so many years old, there is still nothing to deteriorate from time to time.
and modern high-capacity disks are filled with helium. here it disappears over time - it diffuses right through the metal. how long exactly they will live is unknown, there are no statistics yet, but it is unlikely that old hard drives will go away for 20 years. And they are guaranteed for three years.

The main problem is the lack of a warranty, since a warranty of more than 2-3 years is a rarity for ordinary HDDs.
Again, the warranty is basically just to rule out a factory defect if the screw fails in the first couple of months.
Otherwise - for HDD 3-5 years is not a problem. Look at the discount. For the sake of 5-10%, I would not bother.
