Naked IE 6 security

How secure is subj without security patches, but running in Ubuntu under wine?
In terms of visiting suspicious sites, opening unfamiliar flash and other delights.
It is clear that harm to the OS itself under an unprivileged user is unlikely to be done, but I'm not sure that there are no pitfalls.

Download a free (for testing) Windows image in VHD format and run from under the no less free VirtualBox.
And there you can already put IECollection and enjoy life to the fullest.

create a separate user for launching IE, and there will be no stones :)

It is almost impossible to harm ubuntu through wine, even if it is launched from under the root. Moreover, the percentage of virus writers who will focus their efforts on such exotics tends to zero.

As uscr rightly noted, by all means wrap all Vine disks and folders inside .wine, so that it is more difficult to rub files in the profile. It's also a good idea to periodically restore .wine from a known clean backup.
