Myths and facts about PWM monitor flicker and health?

How true is it that flickering LED backlight with a frequency of about 240 Hertz negatively affects health and well-being? I didn’t find normal information on the Russian-language Internet ...
(But I found an incredible amount of nonsense, such as that the IR radiation of an optical mouse is harmful to humans. God, how much obscurantism is around ...)
... so, does anyone have any adequate information on this topic? Perhaps some British scientists wanted to conduct blind testing on several hundred people? Or some kind of adequate infa from a foreign Internet?

My personal experience is that PWM is just one of the factors influencing the monitor on the eyes. And, as for me, far from the most significant. I have a PWM monitor at home, which blinks noticeably on the “pencil” test, but my eyes practically do not get tired of it, unlike many monitors where there is no PWM. Personally, I have a very unpleasant feeling from the crystalline effect, which is usually present on monitors with matte finishes - it is very bad for the eyes from it.
And so everything was said correctly above - you will not find the truth. It remains only to judge subjectively whether the eyes get tired or not.

Health is negatively affected by low-frequency flicker, not high-frequency.
But if the alternating current bulbs in the room work and it turns out (240 / 50) = 4.8 Hz, then this can already be very tiring and lead to mental disorders (if you force yourself to sit in front of such a horror for a very long time, however, forcing yourself to deal with any horror can bring).
But here it still looks like it flickers. Everyone flickers in different ways and far from always it is even noticeable. And some flicker even without bulbs, simply because the rectifier is bad in the power supply. It seems to be 240Hz, but in fact it turns out 4.8 over 240 (something like this: forumimage.ru/uploads/20130331/136473864499168365.gif ).
In general, it is better when it does not flicker. But in good monitors, this flickering is not noticeable even with bad bulbs.

In addition to PWM, there are 2 more flickers: FRC and crystal inversion.
At the expense of the impact on health, if it is tied to money, you will not find the truth. Studies with the desired results are bought - the only question is the price. The same GMOs are absolutely safe according to official data, but for some reason people are in no hurry to eat them.
According to modern research, this or that technology can be absolutely safe and have a quality certificate. After 20 years, the studies will be refuted, they will bring their modest apologies ... But you can’t return health ...
