Microphone problems?

Built-in microphone, macbook air 13 mid2012. Recently, the microphone has become very quiet, the interlocutors can barely hear the voice. Moreover, which is typical, button presses and tapping on the body are transmitted perfectly. Sensitivity is set to maximum, OS X 10.9 with the latest updates. Has anyone come across?

The most common causes are a clogged microphone hole or a damaged microphone. The second is treated only in the service. If tapping on the body is captured well, it looks more like the first problem. Also, given the location of the microphone, make sure that nothing is blocking it.

The clogging of the holes can hardly affect the sensitivity so much, if you even close it with your finger, then acceptable audibility remains (I just checked it on my air 13 2011). In practice, there was one case that the microphone was unstuck / displaced from the seat and there was poor audibility. But there were a couple of "dead" microphones, and it was on the airs, they are miniature there and, apparently, therefore less reliable. A malfunction of the board itself and a system glitch cannot be ruled out either, but this is unlikely.
The algorithm for diagnosing such a malfunction:
1 boot from an external test hdd
2 throw another microphone
3 throw another sound card (on air the sound is on a separate board, the magsafe board)

Hello.
I apologize if it's completely off topic ..)
The situation is this. They filled me with a MacBook Air 13 'mid 2013. I went to do repairs, ordered the parts (motherboard, power supply scarf, battery and touchpad) came and installed. I installed the system at home myself, from scratch (clean).
Problem:
1. There is no sound and the microphone does not respond to anything ((((((does not see the output and input devices (Settings-> Sound ...) and
2. the FN buttons (top row) do not respond to their functions (they do not regulate light, volume, etc.) but other functions can be set on them ... (((
If you help, I will be very happy and grateful.

Absolutely the same problem. I solved it this way: I removed the microphone (to do this, you need to open the cover, pull out the battery and speaker from the side of the microphone), then poked the microphone holes with a needle, blew it, put everything back together, as a result, the microphone began to work normally.
It may be enough just to poke the holes with a needle and then blow it out. Just blowing didn't help.
