MeeGo on a desktop PC for a kettle (?)?

I have an old PC.
The task is to make a multimedia center out of it + a climber on an Internet.
1. Is it correct and possible to put MeeGO on a stationary PC with the following tasks:
- Watching cartoons for a child.
- Using the Browser, ICQ and soap for mom. (via 3G whistle)
2. Does MeeGo have Russian language.
3. If not MeeGo, then what? What other operating systems do we have the most user-friendly interface?

1. In general, it can, though I don’t know how things are with 3G support.
2. Has.
3.You can see Ubuntu. It is more tolerant to various iron. As far as I know, existing MeeGo builds are far from running on all processors. In addition, there are few software packages for MeeGo yet. However, for the voiced tasks it should be enough, and the interface is more convenient for them.

MeeGo 1.1 Linuxcenter Edition might be worth a look?

I stopped something - I didn’t immediately notice about the athlone. It will most likely require a special kernel to be made, which, of course, is not in the distribution kit. There, for obvious reasons, everything is sharpened for Intel.

if you want a child to use the system, you can also install a miigo, children quickly learn and figure it out. but if for parents, it’s better to install ubuntu with Unity (although the release will be on April 28, and the beta will be tomorrow). Well, a big plus of ubunta is its great popularity: if there are problems, you can quickly solve it, if you need some kind of software, then it will most likely already exist in deb packages, etc.
Well, although Meego will cope with your tasks, I would not say that it has a good interface. At one time I tried it on my parents' netbook, but demolished it and installed Ubuntu Netbook Edition and have no regrets.
