Maximum internet connection speed?

Hello!
Tell me, for example, I'm downloading a file from some server via a Wi-Fi connection. Will this file download at the full speed of your internet connection? And if I run several more download streams in parallel, will the speed be divided by all streams? The problem is that when I measure the connection speed when downloading a file, it comes out, for example, 20 Mbps. And the speed that Speedtest shows is 40 Mbps. It turns out when downloading a file, the Internet channel is not fully loaded? I would be grateful for any information.

Another person realized that he is paying for a tariff that he does not need 90% of the time :)
The speed of your data reception depends on the width and load of the server channels, delays and channels of all intermediate providers, the load of your provider’s channel, the quality of your router, the quality of the signal to your laptop.
And many more variables.
In fact, you can only fill your channel to the limit with torrents :)

It is also worth considering the fact that the server may not provide you with such a bandwidth.
