MacBook pro stopped charging without adapter?

I noticed that the macbook stopped charging from the cable if it was connected to thunderbolt 3, and this was after I started using a special adapter where there is usb and hdmi. If you connect the charger to the adapter and it to the thunderbolt of the macbook, it charges normally, but if you charge directly to the macbook, nothing happens.
