Macbook PRO Core 2 duo. Is it worth taking it?

Comrades, this friend fell into my hands. As a gift. Is it really possible to upgrade it somehow? SSD, add RAM?

You can add a little RAM (like 2 slots of 2GB DDR2 each), but it's only good for office work.
I wouldn’t even buy an SSD for such an old computer: an SSD will be more expensive than iron, and the main cost is the stub logo .. Although some 120GB can certainly be installed.
In any case, most will not be able to work on this even after the upgrade.

Looking for what purposes.
I had the same firmware with 4GB RAM + SSD in 2014. User for iOS development, in fact it was enough, Xcode is not very demanding.
Pros:
+ it’s not a pity
+ a good screen like for an old man from 2008
+ (tested only with SSD) browser, YouTube doesn’t lag
+ can be exchanged for a newer regular laptop
Cons:
- weight
- battery is expensive to change
- and with a dead battery it will work on 50% power (apple used the battery to smooth out peak loads and, if the ukkum is faulty, they simply cut off the second core)
- the Gifors 8600m video card or something like that - runs the risk of overheating and asking for a chip replacement (by the way, I have not seen this model with a non-soldered chip)
- ddr2 so-dimm two slots with a maximum possible 4 GB.
His time has passed, I sold it :)
