Macbook Pro 15 Retina connection to Dell U2414h monitor. I connect via HDMI - everything is blurry. What wire is needed?

Welcome all. I would be very grateful if you could help me to resolve this issue.
I connect my Macbook Pro 15 Retina (mid 2015) to an external monitor Dell U2114h via Hdmi/Hdmi cable. The picture is much worse than when using the same monitor but under Windows. All fonts are not clear, and the colors themselves are somehow sharp, distorted. My eyes start to hurt immediately after 3 minutes. I am engaged in web design, and such a display, to put it mildly, does not suit me. Apple tech support advised me to buy a wire, naturally from Apple Thunderbolt, and connect one end of it to the Thunderbolt port on the laptop, and the other to the Mini Display Port input on the monitor. As a result, I took this expensive wire, connected everything, but now the monitor does not see the signal from the laptop at all. Does this mean the connection is wrong?
This Dell U2114h monitor has HDMI , Display Port and Mini Display port ports. There are also several USB ports
on the Macbook Pro 15 Retina laptop: two Thunderbolt, USB and Hdmi
Please tell me what kind of wire or adapter is needed so that everything is displayed correctly and without a blurry picture on this monitor?
I've been suffering for a week now. 5k has already been thrown on the wires. I don't feel like experimenting any further.
Thank you in advance
