MacBook Pro 15" MJLT2 or MacBook Pro 15" MPTT2?
I sold two bulky laptops that worked on Windows, I want to upgrade my MacBook Pro, now it's an old upgraded firmware, but it's not enough in terms of performance.
I began to choose, read and watch reviews, comparisons and opinions of different people ...
I went to the store ten times, put both models side by side.
In short, I got completely confused ;(
The difference in price is not so significant, the performance of the old model should be enough for me, it’s stupid of course, but it’s a little embarrassing that in six months I will be the owner of a three-year-old laptop. I don’t like the touchbar and the design of the lid because of which it clicks and yeast.Of the advantages of the new model, I single out performance, keyboard and dimensions.Maybe
there is a simple person here who faced such a choice?Bloggers snickering do not inspire confidence.
A MacBook is needed to work with photos, videos, web development, programming.

I faced the same choice recently. I took MJLT2. For me, they outweighed: MagSafe, a proven familiar keyboard (many complaints about the new one, although I really like the course of its keys, but now I’m not ready to take risks), the lack of F-keys and normal ESC (the touchbar is the main minus for me), I’m not sure that it’s big the trackpad will be convenient in everyday use, the need for adapters (I don’t want to bother when you need to plug in a memory card or USB-A device, although in general it’s not very critical if there were no other minuses).
In general, the new one has pluses: lighter, faster, better screen, cooler / less noise, faster SSD (~ 2400Mb / s versus 1800Mb / s in read speed, write speed is at the same level around 1500Mb / s). I thought for a long time, looked at real tasks, and came to the conclusion that 2015 would suit me more. CPU performance for the eyes - it still never works for me to the maximum, although the screen loses in comparison with 2016 and 2017, it is still one of the best on the market, there are no complaints about it, and since I rarely load it with CPU-intensive tasks - noise / heating are not a priority, in my normal operation it does not heat up and does not make noise. Of course, if you constantly edit video or compile code, then the difference will be noticeable, the cooling system works better in the new one. SSD in this case is a nice bonus for 2016-2017 models,
For me, the cons of the new models outweighed the pros, the main minus for me is the touchbar, if there was a model with a normal keyboard, I might not be so critical of the rest, of course it’s very subjective, but I often use the function keys in my work and am not ready for refuse them, and the functionality of the 2015 model completely covers my tasks. I don’t carry it with me, it’s still heavy, I use Air 13 for mobility.
Well, I would take 2015 if I were you. I don’t understand at all how you can live with 4 USB-C ports in our time. If it comes out in terms of money, then the top 2015 will live for another 5 years, I think
I advise you to take a new one. I have a minimal Macbook Pro 13' 2016 model. Key travel is excellent, ports (two USB-C - paradoxically enough!).
