Macbook PRO 13 Late 2011 - Why does it slow down when running on battery power?
Good day! I hope I can find the answer to the question that has been tormenting me for a year =) Therefore, the essence of the question has already been indicated above, when working on mains power, the laptop works fine, there are no animation friezes, processes and just surfing. All the dregs begin when the mains power is turned off, and now I will describe the steps that I took to identify / solve the problem:
PS: The CPU is practically not loaded when working from the network, it works like a clock, but after I disconnect the cable, the CPU load immediately increases and friezes are observed
1 .Replacing the battery with a new one (it cost a penny but it didn’t help, alas)
2. Calibrating the battery
3. Installing the system from scratch (including replacing the HDD and installing a clean system there)
4. I was in the Apple workshop, the laptop stayed there for two weeks, after the diagnostics they did not solve the problem.
5. Google for a long time and trying this or that solution, edited the system files, the system started to work a little faster against the background of what it was.

Is there a power section on a Mac? In Windows, this is configured as the maximum performance when the power is turned off.
I am familiar with your problem. I don't know what the real reason is, but I'm pretty sure Apple did it to protect the battery. When running on battery power, the fans are cut off to save energy, the processor heats up and drops the frequencies (SpeedStep). And how to wallow with a computer in bed? I've been using Macs Fan Control for many years and I'm happy with it and recommend it.
