Will they upgrade to a new macbook or not?

I currently have a macbook pro 13 mid 12 with 8gb ram and 256gb ssd (upgrade from HDD). In principle, it works well, but it still slows down. By myself, I'm a Full Stack Developer, mac can't cope with the load if programs like Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, MAMP, VSCode and others are open .. Should I upgrade the RAM? Or is it better to update the macbook itself completely?

Upgrade to 16 GB. New is expensive. When the old one breaks, then you can buy a new one. In addition, in new models it is no longer possible to add memory. If the disk is old, then it can also be changed, but the key speed factor is still RAM, so focus on it.
