Mac Mini or MacBook Air for xCode development?
Hello!
I am collecting the cheapest config for iOS development on Swift, I chose the iPhone 5C for tests, and there is a question with a computer running xCode.
Advise what is better for the current xCode and the future xCode 6:
- Mac Mini (the simplest MD388RS / A)
or
- MacBook Air (also the simplest MacBook Air 11 Mid 2013 MD711)?
The hardware will be used with an external HDMI monitor and an external keyboard, and nettop and netbook prices are about the same in local stores.
What do you advise?
Thanks a lot!

xcode on air will slow down very hard, it is generally demanding on resources, primarily on memory.
So, as they write correctly, it is better to take a mini and immediately finish off the memory into it.
By the way, I would not save money and take mini with i7, it will be more fun anyway.
PS Where did you find the same prices for air and mini?
air from 34 900; mini from 21 900
Take a Macbook if the price is comparable. At least you can have a cup of tea with him while surfing the Internet at the same time.
