Mac Book Pro 16 how to cool down with external monitor connected?
Hello! Recently switched to apple laptops and purchased mbp 16' 2019 i9. When connecting an external monitor, the temperature during simple surfing in the internet is 60-65 degrees. Please tell me is this normal? and how can this be fixed if this is not the norm for apple laptops.

In general - 65 is about nothing temperature.
In poppies, the priority of silence over warmth.
If you still need to cool down in principle, then there are two main methods -
1) an external stand, the issue price is about 20-30 bucks. There are downsides of course, but in general it will be quieter.
2) Install the mac fan control app. I used it in 2012, now I don’t see much point in it. Yes, it starts to cool down, and 10-15 degrees is easily lost. but the noise will not always please you.
Of course, they answered you here and advised you to buy a stand ahhaah, it's really funny.
Yes, this is the problem of all 16 macbooks and part 13 of 2020. Lots of threads on the forums. There are solutions, one of them is here - https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/16-is-hot-noi...
More information can be found on the MacBook Pro 16 hot issue.
I also have a 16 inch macbook pro now, yes, I suffered too. I solved the problem by enabling HiDPI. the problem is rather in the AMD drivers (as they say from the forums). More info can be googled.
I don’t remember exactly if everything, but some MacBooks suffer from poor cooling. Theoretically, from the connection of the monitor, it should no longer heat up normally (although I won’t say about the macbook). Yes, and the temperature is not very high. Are you watching 4k video? And what is the temperature when surfing without an external monitor?
For macs it's ok. Even more so for yours. He did not warm up to a hundred.
Yes, this is normal, when you connect a monitor, you just turn on a discrete video card that heats the common radiator a little more. I have the same macbook and the same temperature without connecting a monitor, just when I forcibly turn on a discrete video card.
For him, everything is fine, since the cooler does not even gain momentum, it starts to rise there from 70+ degrees only ...
I have air m1
I'm sitting with a 4k monitor and heating is 35-40 during the browser, etc.
if I load it heavily, I've never seen more than 70 on it,
so to speak, to understand the degrees in the poppy
70 never? strange
I have a macbook pro 16 2020, 32GB, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, it heats up terribly - surfing in the browser, 25 youtube tabs, etc., jumps up to 95, 98, if you jump on the tab it rises about 80, If I connect a thunderbolt display monitor through a $ 50 adapter and I don’t display anything except the desktop, everything boils 80-90, never turned off and didn’t reach 100, the previous one was 64GB, everything is the same, my friend also heats up, he proger, constantly in the noise of the fans. $3500 toy can't survive surfing?
Finally, on MacOS Monterey , the problem with overheating when connecting an external monitor has been fixed!
