Low-level computer issues?

Hello! Advise please the book describing low-level questions of operation of the computer. Of course, we are talking about x86 and, first of all, I am interested in the basics of peripherals with a CPU - interrupts, direct memory access, data exchange between devices, BIOS, etc. In addition, if possible, the book may also contain a small introduction to assemblers.

The most intelligible books I've seen on this you are still books by Peter Norton. Look for any on the topic of the early nineties and read. It chews everything very deeply and voluminously. And the fact that DOS and disk drives is not scary, the foundation has not changed, interrupts and ports are still the same, protected mode, etc.
Alas, one of the most recent is the Inner World of Personal Computers. Favorites from Peter Norton 99
