Local search on a computer
I have been looking for a good file search engine on my computer for a long time. I have 2 TB of not very structured folders :)
The standard Windows search all over the computer searches slowly and does not find everything.
Google Desktop didn't work at all and is no longer supported.
Now I have Yandex Personal Search, but the set of options does not suit me. I want to make complex search queries, search in the found, etc. Again, the program has not been updated for several years.
Two years ago, a student of my circlePavel Krasnov wrote a prototype of such a system in PHP. In addition to the obvious search by file names, she can tear out text from rtf, doc, docx, ppt, pdf, exif, ID3 tags, take screenshots from video files, and so on. + it is possible to publish all this on a web server with the ability to download access rights. In my opinion, a very good job for a 10th grade student :) You can look at the system here . Login and password: qwertyqwerty
So, experts, attention to the question: is there something similar ready for Windows?
If not, I'm already ready to write such a thing for myself during the New Year holidays.

Try Everything search engine www.voidtools.com/ , I haven't used it myself, I'm completely satisfied with Spotlight, but my friend admired this program ...
File indexing, instant search.
additional features - renaming / deleting files, the ability to index remote storages, regular expressions.
Does not require to be a background process, can only be run on demand.
Also pay attention to Archivist 3000 www.likasoft.com/ru/document-search/features.shtml
its advantages are that an index is initially created, where everything is dragged (full-text). therefore, it is possible to search even when the media is turned off.
well, and the minus that follows from here - the index needs to live somewhere - additional disk space, which is not a big problem now, especially if you need a quick search.
For searching through a large number of documents - that's it.
