The purpose of the purchase is not clear at all. Under office tasks and 13k is enough with a margin.
Ultrabooks are a PR move, nothing more. In fact, these are the same laptops, only thin, light and without an optical drive. If you constantly carry with you, then this is very important.

If you don't need games - definitely take an ultrabook.
The laptop as a class has become obsolete.
PS. On the same ASUS UX31A, you can still play comfortably if it burns.
