Is there any reason to do storage on Ceph with a channel of 1 Gb / s?
What is: 6 servers for virtual machines. The servers have two regular SATA disks, a vLan with a bandwidth of 1 Gb / s is organized between the machines.
Task: Set up Ceph object storage on existing hardware. The 1st node disk is supposed to be used for the OS, the 2nd one for the storage.
Question: Will there be a big performance loss due to the small (1 Gb / s?) vLan throughput between nodes? Will pumping the channel up to 10 Gb / s change the situation? What channel is required between nodes for storage on SSD?
UPD: found network recommendations for regular drives. For SSD the question remains open.
