Is there any point in upgrading old hardware?

costs AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 640 under overclocking to 3.5 MHz
I want to replace it with AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
does it make sense?

Depends on the purpose of using the computer.
In the office format for all sorts of Words - memory up to 8 GB + ssd.
In the format of a game percent, change if only for free. And so it is better to postpone for a new one.

Everal , I would recommend replacing the processor with a Core i3 or at least the most powerful Pentium. And one more thing that confuses me. You have a 4-channel motherboard, that is, you can connect 4 sticks of RAM (System Memory). You have only 10 gigs, that is, 2 by 4 and one by 2. A two-by-two bar works in single-channel mode, which is less efficient than in two-channel. Just buy a bar for 2 gigs of RAM. And if you guessed to put one bar, you could put it like this: ea2277d09282201c4afe3dff4240151a-full.pn
And not like this: 52ad2a9fcdc149fcae1dac1e3f4855c7.png
And so everything is very good with you, only if you decide to put a bar for RAM, then set it only with the mark DDR3 no higher than 1666 MHz and so that the frequency (MHz) was not less than that of the other bar, because then the first one will work more slowly.
