Is there a practice of concluding contracts for education?

I heard that large companies sometimes conclude contracts with students for education abroad, and after completing their education, they must work for some time (three years, for example) in the company (possibly with a reduced salary). Is there such a thing? Is it often? Is there a high probability of going to graduate school in this way, provided that you study well at a good Moscow university?

In general, there is a practice in which a certain organization pays for your studies, and in return you work for 5-10 years in this organization. I have not seen cases of sending abroad, but I know a lot about studying at large Moscow universities. The probability is not high - acquaintances within the organization are required.
