Is there a difference in what resolution to buy a monitor if you need more than 1920x1080, but watch 1920x1080 video?

Yes, choose a monitor with the same aspect ratio, 16:9. For the rest, as you wish.

The question immediately arises - why is this necessary? There is no hint in the question, you have to think it out. Well, for example, you have to work with images (not videos!) of higher resolution. But then the answer is so obvious that it is strange to ask about it - with what resolution you work, and have this in the monitor. Let's say you have 4K photos - well, buy a 4K monitor. Otherwise, it's a waste of money.
