Is there a decent video editor for linux?

Can you please tell me if there is a decent video editor for linux?
And how does Sony Vegas behave in wine, on a virtual machine?

I advise you to look towards Kdenlive. Quite a decent program.

Not sure what your requirements are for "decent", but OpenShot is definitely worth checking out .

I use Blender myself, as already advised above. Many more people praise Lightworks www.lwks.com/index.php?option=com_lwks&view=downlo... This is a professional grade video editor

I can recommend what I myself used - KDEnlive and OpenShot, for transcoding and merging several videos - AviDemux.
It's certainly not Sony Vegas, but it's pretty good.
