Project management

Is redmine up to date?

Project management related tasks:

  • tasks of different levels come from external and internal clients (web development, content management, seo, online marketing, other tasks not related to programming
  • tasks must be assigned to different projects associated with external and internal clients
  • tasks are assigned to specific performers
  • execution tracking is implemented in the form of a kanban
  • there is a need to differentiate access rights and visibility of projects/tasks among different users and groups
  • there is a need to decompose tasks (for example, the client has set a task that affects several areas and should be distributed among different working groups)
  • there is a need to track the time spent on each task (preferably automated)
  • integration with an external git server gitlab is required (at least at the level of association of commits and assigned tasks)

I met redmine as a possible solution.
How relevant is it at the moment, is there something more modern, flexible, free, or is redmine the most popular and developing solution?

As a locally raised solution - Redmine is popular.
In theory, in the heavier category, only paid JIRA + Confluence etc.

Yes, it is quite relevant - it is still being updated, plugins are coming out, new features, bugs are being fixed.
