Leadership, project management: literature for dummies :)

In connection with the departure of the current project manager, I was offered this position. From the point of view of knowledge of the project and technical savvy, everything is in order. But managerial abilities in me, to put it mildly, are not developed, and to put it bluntly, they are absent as a class :)

I don’t think that this will be a big problem, but still, I would like to study at least the theory of people management. I feel like I miss it. Advise, please, good literature.

A fairly good book, it describes the general rules for managing people. Richard Templar. Management rules.
Another good book, but more for Apple and Jobs fans Carmine Gallo. Jobs Rules

Tom de Marco: "Waltzing with the Bears" is software project management, but these tips can be applied to almost any field. At one time, she was advised to me by a person - a professional with a capital letter in the field of com management. real estate. In fact, the manager assembles the components into a mechanism, debugs its work, so a book about risk management, about project management in an adult way will come in handy.

Peter Drucker - everything. One of the founders of management. Almost everything that is written on the territory of the post-union is abstracts based on his works. It was he who introduced the definition of "knowledge worker"
Russell D. Archibald. Management of high-tech programs and projects.
The emphasis is on high-tech projects. Boring. But useful.
One of the rare good translations.
Managing Projects in Telecommunication Services. ISBN: 9780470047682.
Book from the IEEE Library. They know what they are doing there. The word telecommunications can be ignored. Written for engineers, in simple language. I really don't know if there is a translation.
Reading these books will not give a quick result, but without them it would be very hard for me to work.

My experience has shown that practical skills are more important than reading.
