Is it worth switching to Mac OS?

I've always used Windows on a desktop like most people, but then switched to Linux to learn new things. Now for 5 years I have been using various Linux distributions from Ubuntu to Gentoo and for the last 2 years I have been using only Archlinux on my laptop. I do front-end development. In Windows, at the moment, everything is not satisfied with everything. Linux has been great for me in every way, but there is one thing. Over time, you manage to play enough and all the pluses of Linux, such as the ability to build a system from scratch or customize anything, become minuses. Things like systemd and gtk3 with huge window titles seem like dead ends. Moving to Awesome WM and console was also unsuccessful. In general, I'm tired.
The question is extremely simple. Should I try switching to Mac OS? It would be especially interesting to see reviews of former Linux users. What things about Mac OS are very different/similar to Windows or Linux?

Looks a lot like Linux. Only better. I switched from Linux to Mac about 8 years ago, and we live like that.

This is growing up.
Usually after this stage they switch to Windows or OS X.
The first one is more convenient for me.

On an Elementary OS desktop, on an OS X laptop.
OS X is great if you love Linux but don't want red eyes (your case). Switching to it from Linux is easy and effortless.
EOS, on the other hand, is an Ubuntu-based distribution, that is, aimed at a wide audience, while designed for OS X. That is, Linux, which is pleasant to use without sleepless nights (opinion is subjective, of course).
As for the question in the title: if it's possible, try it. I don't remember a single person who would regret it.

Move? The question is moot. Rather, rather, the answer will be ambiguous.
Try it. If you like it, move on. But this does not mean that you will not use other operating systems (or will not be able to use them). Switching to a Mac is not about moving to another country and cutting off all ties with the outside world.
But in order to understand all the advantages of the new system, you need the appropriate equipment.
For you, in any case, and even more so, given your specialization, familiarity with Mac OS could be useful.

I tried for a couple of months on MacMini 2.1 and MacOS X 10.8.5.
After Lubuntu 12.04 - unusual, slow, miserable.
Came back to Lubuntu (now 14.04) with a deep sense of relief.

I would feel like calling Mac OS X some kind of Elementary OS, into which a lot of effort and money has swelled. There are much fewer problems, the possibilities for changing the appearance too (although I somehow never felt uncomfortable about this). And more software, IMHO. I advise you to go, personal opinion.

The only thing that may cause problems is using some part of open source, because not everything works well and stable after recompilation on Mac OS. But this problem is rapidly decreasing in size over time, because almost all the main frameworks have already been ported to the Mac, and developers are testing the build for Mac more thoroughly.
Otherwise, just for work, Mac is the best combination of the power of Unix with the quality of finish, IMHO.

As a person who was once engaged in front-end, I advise you to move. Just not on a hackintosh. Recently I was left without a mac and had to return for 2 weeks on windows. it was 2 weeks of my personal hell. No way back.
OS X differs from Unix primarily in the presence of a bunch of useful software, including for the front-end.

What about the meaning?
+ Yes, it is more reliable in terms of software and hardware (for the older one, it hung for the first time a year later in ... windows sessions). The sound is better (notebooks). For processing video-photo-sound, you can BUY good software.
- It took to process 1 (one) PNG-ku with an alpha channel. Three hours looking for software. Javadxan software full of, but for money.
Don't misunderstand me, I'm a developer and I buy all the necessary software, even a weather informer, but processing one picture for 1 tr?
There must be a solid, monetary reason for the transition, well, in extreme cases, the reason will come down to: "Very hot!"
