Is it worth it to spend on a laptop?
Good day.
Decided to buy a laptop. I live in Ukraine , I enter the university for a specialty in the field of IT and coding.
I decided that I want 15.6 "with full hd. Prices are not so hot in Ukraine. In a year I plan to assemble a good PC.
Is it worth spending on a laptop with a 1Tb + i5 + 2gb video + 8 gb ram processor? Or is it better to take 1Tb (or less ) + i3 + 2g + 4gb, then maybe buy an additional bar of RAM? It’s just that with i5 the price immediately jumps by 5k hryvnias. And maybe not take a discrete video card at all, but use the default one?
+ to everything there will be an additional weak laptop for 13 "with 2GB of RAM, such an old man.
Does anyone know where in Ukraine you can find an online store where you can call yourself and choose the amount of memory and hard drive?
I considered delivery when buying from Russia and the USA - the same price is about the same as buying here.

Your question sounds like, decide if I need it or not.
Just buy what you don't mind the money or don't buy.
Memory and disk are not particularly delivered, they usually take with one empty memory slot and a free msata;
From the practice of using only a laptop for many years, I can say that it can be worth taking with 4 gigs of memory and then, if necessary, finishing off another 4. Just look at the maximum that the laptop motherboard pulls.
For the university, a laptop is needed - this is 100%.
At least FullHD is also required.
SSD - too, without it, all IO operations will slow down, and this will be noticeable even with a top-end processor.
8 RAM is enough now for most tasks, but if you plan to use a laptop for a couple more years, make sure you can expand to 16.
When I got a laptop, I completely abandoned the desktop (I use a laptop at home with external monitors).
1. If the laptop is for work, the built-in Intel video is enough for you. Again, when you can’t physically play games, there is more motivation to study;)
2. Accordingly, again, if for work, then the percentage of course is Intel, although there will be no crap and performance will be normal. AMD's problem is not that they heat up - they also heat up, but that they are weak now, Intel has gone far ahead in recent years.
3. I would look for a used laptop, only a fresh one is enough, a used one or a year and a half at most, so that there is a live battery. A laptop is now almost like a smartphone: case, battery, screen, motherboard and, in fact, everything. Well, laptops still have many operability and hard drive can be changed, although they are already starting to solder too. Here, respectively, we are looking for a normal laptop, not an ultrabook, so that we can change it. We achieve the RAM to the stop, put the SSD.
4. From specific processors - if you're lucky to find i7 QM, ie. with 4 cores, for the right money, it's worth taking. If not, then you can take i3, it makes little sense to overpay for dual-core i5 and i7, it's still 2 cores, and the frequencies are close
You can take the Razer Blade 14" for $2400. Lightweight, compact, stylish, very powerful, higher resolution than macbooks, good battery. You can work, play, surf the Internet, watch movies, and even crack nuts with them, in fact.
Too expensive Well then, it’s probably worth understanding what is more important - battery life, weight and dimensions, screen size and quality, work performance, gaming performance, etc., determine the maximum budget - and then ask a question.
You never wrote why do you need a laptop, studying? play? to be? Will you always and everywhere carry it with you?
Answering these questions will allow you to choose something specific.
Most shops will sell you additional memory with a laptop and put it in for you.
For study and even for work (if you don’t plan to play games), the best option is with the most capacious battery, minimal heat, and the lighter, the better, otherwise you will quickly get tired of carrying it with you - I chose Asus X205TA, I took it for 14,000 rubles.
