Is it worth doing a thesis on the topic of bitcoins?

Gentlemen,
I am a master, I decide on the topic of the diploma. The problem is in the formation of tasks that I will solve and possible practical implementations. The supervisor of the thesis got acquainted with the array of information about bitcoin and concluded that there you can collect references for a maximum of 15 pages, and in general this is a bubble and an illegal business.
I talked with colleagues, everyone is positive, but they don’t understand at all what cryptocurrency is and they brand mlm, mmm, bubble, etc. Their opinion is valid.
Tell me how to be, I would not want to defend a diploma on the topic of some 1C, but take something promising and fashionable for youth: D

Firstly, the topic should not only be relevant and new, but it should also refer to something more or less vital. Bitcoin is currently a purely speculative topic, if you also consider that only a few can actually use this thing in Russia, then the relevance of the topic becomes zero and unnecessary in the real world. Look at the exchange rate, while you are collecting the amount to buy, it can change by 10 percent.
But 1s, although not youth, but a very promising topic. Just for the sake of interest, see how many enterprises use 1c products and compare with bitcoin. Improvement and innovation in 1s can bring real benefits to thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people. Compare this to the benefits of Bitcoin. The difference will be obvious.
It is worth remembering that the thesis defense takes about 15 minutes, during this time it is necessary to convey to the audience the purpose of the work, its result and show the complexity. Given that people still know about 1s, it will be easier to do this.
It will also be more useful for yourself to gain experience on a topic in demand.
And you can work out with bitcoins at your leisure.

It reminds me of something ;-)
And if in the case, then you are sure of that. that a diploma on such a topic will be "accepted" by the SAC?
What is the age of its participants in your university?

Volodya, in our institutes everyone should talk about your topic of work, teachers listen to them every year, and if you are not going to go to graduate school, then it doesn’t matter at all what the topic will be. For evaluation - 5 is given to those who are a red diploma student, and also to those who can see what they did and understand the issue, the rest 4/3, depending on how deep they are, etc.
And from an economic point of view, bitcoin cannot be the main currency, because. now it is more profitable to save it than to spend and produce something

Kill it. I took "fashionable and youthful" (fault tolerance of web services) on my diploma - they did not understand what it was about at all ("for diligence - C grade, and a site can be made fault-tolerant simply by installing 2 servers"). The clouds-blabla-balancing-whatever-stateless-frontend passed them by.

Yes, only on Habré about bitcoin articles on the case, and not “the course has changed again”, you can find 50+ pages, collect everything, show the manager, justify the topic, in other words, if you can’t justify, then you don’t need to write a diploma about it.

Listen to the advice of the teacher, because. He has more experience. It's one thing to do something for yourself, and another thing to defend a diploma. GAK will not understand what this is about.
